A much sought after teacher of choral singing, Rachel has been performing and teaching throughout Australia and internationally for over 15 years. From Canberra to Kalgoorlie, Burnie to Brisbane and beyond, Rachel has mentored hundreds of singers in community choirs. A graduate of the NSW Conservatorium of Music, Rachel began her singing career with the highly acclaimed Australian vocal quartet 'Arramaieda', who became an important influence on the now flourishing choral scene in Australia, with their original music and arrangements. Recent teaching credits Rachel has conducted the 450 voice Woodford Folk Festival 'Fire Choir (2005, 06), the Melbourne Millennium Chorus (2005), the Blue Mountains Concert for Peace with 400 Primary school children, and the Wintermagic Festival Big Sing, live -to -air on ABC radio (2005) Rachel is coordinator and tutor at the annual choral music camps Wintersong NSW (2000-2007) and the Italian choral retreats Singing in Tuscany (2004) and Singing in Siena (2005). Other recent teaching and performance events include Singing in Paradise (Savu Savu Fiji), The Femme Funk Festival (New Caledonia), The Denmark Festival of Voice (2004), Rhythmsong W.A. (2002, 03, 07), Dayelsford Singers Festival (VIC), Hastings Choral Festival (N.S.W 2004, 06), The Tasmanian Acappella Festival and Courageous Conversations Conference (QLD), You're the Voice Children's Choral Festival (2006, 07). Rachel has led Singing From the Same Page workshops in several Government and corporate conferences. Rachel has travelled several times to Western Australia, setting up music workshops in remote communities for young aboriginal women. She is currently musical director of two community choirs in the Blue Mountains, NSW, Voiceworks and ROC. Rachel is passionate about choral music and its role in
creating community, bridging cultures, creating social action and personal
